Rolling Hills Master Bathroom

I love starting a project designing on my computer program. It’s the easiest way to experiment with ideas! I want our Rolling Hills Master bathroom design to be exceptional, and offer something that you don’t see in other homes.

The safe way would to do white cabinets. I love white cabinets in a bathroom. They are classic and clean. But if I want exceptional, I need a pop of color. Since I’m going with a coastal farmhouse theme, a shade of blue/green will be the fit perfect in the design. Going with black fixtures is timeless and brings in the farmhouse design aspect.

I’m also going to be using some shiplap in the house design. So bringing this feature into the master bathroom will tie the rooms together. This of course, is a conceptual view of how the bathroom will look, and the colors may vary a bit. But I think we are off to a good start! Stay tuned for the custom tiled shower design!! It’s going to be amazing!

Rolling Hills Progress

Our Rolling Hills house has made a lot of exciting progress the last couple weeks! We have a framed and sheeted house with windows, doors, and all the rough in for plumbing, HVAC and electrical is happening. Soon the fun interior choices begin!

Interior finish board

I’m staying very close to my original design board of this house. I’m very attached to it! I can’t wait to see it come to life.

I’ve put a lot of thought into the exterior of this house. I love and appreciate a classic look of a home. So I’ve kept that in mind while choosing the exterior materials and colors.

If this house speaks to you, please contact us! We’d love to show you around. We’ve had so many compliments regarding the floor plan and layout of this house. It’s perfect for a small family or a growing family!

My goal of this whole Design is to bring a family home. ❤️

Rolling Hills

Our next custom spec is currently under construction! I am so excited about the design concept of this house. It will have a coastal farmhouse feel that mixes elements of old and new, using metal, wood, and bright white paint colors to bring this home a clean traditional look.

This home is located on a corner lot in the Country Hills Subdivision. It has established trees with plenty of shade and sunshine. I have to admit, I am a bit envious of this lot. We have been eyeing it for a couple years actually and when it returned back on the market we jumped on it.

This time we are putting the house on the market before it is finished. This will give potential home buyers a chance to add their own personal touches.

I am excited to share the design process of this house with you! Stay tuned to be part of the building process.

Making a Statement

When deciding on a vanity style and color for this master bathroom I wanted to keep with the style of painted cabinets, but I also wanted it to be different from the kitchen.  My first instinct was to go with white.  White is pretty, it’s traditional in a master bathroom, and I love the crisp clean look it.  Then I was inspired by a black master bathroom vanity https://domino.com/modern-neutral-hollywood-home-tour.

I knew that I wanted to make a statement in this bathroom.  Our windows are black in this house, the exterior brick is black, and this bathroom would be a good match. I went with https://www.cliqstudios.com/ again. We loved working with these cabinets for the kitchen, so it was an easy decision use them for the bathroom as well.

I was so scared, nervous,  excited to unbox these cabinets!  The black was exactly what I imaged it to be! It gave the bathroom a nice modern look, and it made the statement I was looking for.  I dressed up the cabinets with chrome hardware and faucets, and topped it with quartz countertops. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

Using a ceramic marble tile in the shower I was able to compliment the quartz countertop, and the dark subway accent tile brings in the black.  I found the perfect marble mosaic hexagon tile to finish it all off.

Buyers aren’t walking into their typical master bathroom at this house.

Kitchen Bliss – Cliqstudios

My favorite part of any home design process has to be the kitchen! I love how families gather in the kitchen for meals, conversations, holidays, and cooking. For this kitchen, I decided to do some researching on what my options were other than the big box stores. I wanted something different, and I wanted to be in budget. When I came across https://www.cliqstudios.com/ I was intrigued. After getting sample cabinets and a quick quote, I decided to give them a try.

Working with their designers was a perk! They not only do this every day, but they are educated about the product lines. I was able to collaborate with my designer, Myisha, and we came up with a great design. She was quick to get back to me with any questions I may have had, and gave the project her full attention.

I am so pleased with the final results. The shaker style cabinets give the kitchen a classic feel, but the Studio Grey painted finish adds a modern touch. We added classic subway tile as a back splash and quartz countertops for a sleek look. All the doors and drawers have soft touch hinges, which you don’t always find in cabinets. This gives the cabinets such a high-end touch. The kitchen cabinets have a lot of drawers, because I love how they function for storage.

The kitchen island is my favorite. It is also topped off with a beautiful quartz countertop. It is a nice large size to give a family a casual eating area, and also plenty of space to prep food. I can also see this space as a dumping ground for after school backpacks, homework space, or an art studio area for playdoh or water colors!

I can’t wait for a family to enjoy this kitchen!

Welcome

IMG_6547 (1) - Copy
Welcome! My name is Sarah, I am married to an amazing husband, and we have two kids that give our life so much joy!

Grendahl Design is a new Design company Specializing in New Build Construction and drafting home plans.

We got started with our business about 3 years ago.  4 years ago we built our personal house,  and we found that we loved the house building process. We didn’t want it to end. So,  we decided to take a risk, and build a house to sell. I have a degree in interior design and my husband has worked in the construction field as a sub contractor for 13 years, so we have a bit of a background in the construction business. A lot of people feel overwhelmed when they are in the building process, but we found out we thrive in it.

My husband Roger is the project manager and I am the designer. I draw out the floor plans, designing everything from the layout of the house, to the exterior and the interior.  Kitchens are my favorite room to design.

I’ve spent the last 12 years raising my amazing kids, and now is the time to help others with making their house feel like home. Whether its designing a house with a family in mind, or helping them along the way. I can’t wait to give others the feeling of joy when walking into their home.
