This whole process has been so exciting.  I have enjoyed staging the house and finding the perfect items for each room.  It definitely feels  welcoming, and I can’t wait for someone to walk in and have it feel like their home.

Making a Statement

When deciding on a vanity style and color for this master bathroom I wanted to keep with the style of painted cabinets, but I also wanted it to be different from the kitchen.  My first instinct was to go with white.  White is pretty, it’s traditional in a master bathroom, and I love the crisp clean look it.  Then I was inspired by a black master bathroom vanity https://domino.com/modern-neutral-hollywood-home-tour.

I knew that I wanted to make a statement in this bathroom.  Our windows are black in this house, the exterior brick is black, and this bathroom would be a good match. I went with https://www.cliqstudios.com/ again. We loved working with these cabinets for the kitchen, so it was an easy decision use them for the bathroom as well.

I was so scared, nervous,  excited to unbox these cabinets!  The black was exactly what I imaged it to be! It gave the bathroom a nice modern look, and it made the statement I was looking for.  I dressed up the cabinets with chrome hardware and faucets, and topped it with quartz countertops. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

Using a ceramic marble tile in the shower I was able to compliment the quartz countertop, and the dark subway accent tile brings in the black.  I found the perfect marble mosaic hexagon tile to finish it all off.

Buyers aren’t walking into their typical master bathroom at this house.

Stage This House

A few weeks ago we decided to enter our spec house in the BMHBA Fall Parade of homes.  I’m not gonna lie, the thought of this house being in the Parade of Homes scares me,  (I won’t even list the reasons why) but it also excites me.  I can’t wait to show off what we worked so hard on.

Since deciding to enter the home into the parade of homes, I decided it needed staged as well.  My dream from the beginning was to stage this house.  This just pushed me to do it.  I find so much joy looking for the right piece for a room, and finding it at an affordable price! Good design doesn’t have to be expensive.  A good tip is to walk down the back isles of the home department at Target, you’ll find all the clearance items there, and you’ll find the best deals during the change of seasons.

Today was the deadline to submit photos. I’ve had this day written in my calendar for weeks. I’ve been working on staging the home, but this day came sooner than I expected!

It looks like a home, it feels like a home, and someone will call it their home.

Kitchen Bliss – Cliqstudios

My favorite part of any home design process has to be the kitchen! I love how families gather in the kitchen for meals, conversations, holidays, and cooking. For this kitchen, I decided to do some researching on what my options were other than the big box stores. I wanted something different, and I wanted to be in budget. When I came across https://www.cliqstudios.com/ I was intrigued. After getting sample cabinets and a quick quote, I decided to give them a try.

Working with their designers was a perk! They not only do this every day, but they are educated about the product lines. I was able to collaborate with my designer, Myisha, and we came up with a great design. She was quick to get back to me with any questions I may have had, and gave the project her full attention.

I am so pleased with the final results. The shaker style cabinets give the kitchen a classic feel, but the Studio Grey painted finish adds a modern touch. We added classic subway tile as a back splash and quartz countertops for a sleek look. All the doors and drawers have soft touch hinges, which you don’t always find in cabinets. This gives the cabinets such a high-end touch. The kitchen cabinets have a lot of drawers, because I love how they function for storage.

The kitchen island is my favorite. It is also topped off with a beautiful quartz countertop. It is a nice large size to give a family a casual eating area, and also plenty of space to prep food. I can also see this space as a dumping ground for after school backpacks, homework space, or an art studio area for playdoh or water colors!

I can’t wait for a family to enjoy this kitchen!
